What To Consider Before Buying A Boston Terrier

If you are considering of having a long-term companion, then the most likely candidate is a dog such as the boston terrier. Having been bred as a companion dog, the boston terrier breed has strong and friendly personality. Most boston terriers are eager to please their masters thus ideal for companionship. Breed

You should not get toy dogs just because of their small size neither be afraid of large breeds just because they are large. Size is not the only basis to determine whether the breed is right for you or not. You need to find out more about the personality traits, characteristics and possible health issues of a boston terrier before you finally decide to get one.

Adoption

Instead of buying a new pup, why not consider adopting from a shelter or breed rescue group? Dog adoption is one sure way to knock down puppy mills. Contrary to what most people believe, not all dogs from shelter or rescue groups are problematic dogs. Some are even potty trained either by their previous owners or by the shelter staff. Just make sure to find the perfect one that will match your personality traits and lifestyle.

Owning a boston terrier requires regular vet visits, vaccination and grooming, not to mention pet supplies such as foods, treats, bowls, leashes, collar, dog bed and a lot more. You may also want to consider getting a pet insurance for your dog as this can help you with the expenses in case Fido gets sick.

Say you are financially capable… The next question is, do you have the time to care for your dog?
