Green Connection is a very intimate modern portrait that illustrates in a very sophisticated manner an array of colors that work together to create a beautiful painting. The painting incorporates many emotionally resonate elements- passionate colors and sweeping brush strokes, and clashing lines underlying emotion. The painting uses a neutral background that brings out the foreground lines, however the viewers attention is captured by this color. By itself it doesn’t carry the essence that it brings to this piece, but with the subject painted on top of it, it draws the eye and holds it. The subject colors in this piece are very diverse, from reds to blues, greens, and oranges. The colors compliment each other and draw attention to the most important elements of the canvas. The lines are choppy and evoke a wily quality in the spare portrait, and the thick strokes of opposite colors point the viewer to the most dramatic elements of the piece. The caotic emotion might seem overwhelming at first glance, but the soothing colors give it a calming look. The two contrast each other but do not take away from one another. They work together to make it a great piece for anyone. It’s collection of complimentary colors and elegant evocations of love in a very modern style make it a evocation and compelling painting to add to any room.
